Out on bail, suspected of gunplay

BELOIT – More than 30 gunshots tore through the tranquil Beloit night of Aug. 12 at a home in the 800 block of Eighth Street, leaving two people injured.

Following an intensive crime scene investigation, one of the alleged shooters was identified.

That young Beloit man previously had been arrested by police for alleged involvement in another shooting just over two years ago.

The suspect – Andy “Man Man” Davis, 24 – had been in the Rock County Jail until June of this year, when he posted a cash bond of $6,000 related to the August 2015 shooting near the Turtle Tap. After posting bond, Davis walked out of the jail.

Less than two months later he was allegedly involved in the Aug. 12 shooting.

Davis’ alleged actions have left multiple people injured, according to court records. He is scheduled for trial in the 2015 shooting beginning Jan. 29, while no complaint

Man suspected of shooting Georgia deputy kills self, authorities say

CUMMING, Ga. (CBS) — A man suspected of shooting and wounding a Georgia sheriff’s deputy killed himself after an armed standoff with officers, authorities say Sunday.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office says in a statement released Sunday night on its Facebook page “the situation has been resolved,” and the suspect had taken his own life. The statement says no additional deputies or other people had been injured.

Area news media reported the deputy was shot in a subdivision in the northern part of the county, about 50 miles northeast of Atlanta.

The deputy suffered leg wounds and was taken to a local hospital where he was being treated for “non-life threatening injuries,” the sheriff’s office says in a news release.

The deputy was investigating a report of a domestic disturbance when he was shot, the sheriff’s office statement says.

UPDATE: Police investigate suspected homicide

TRAVERSE CITY — Word of a suspected homicide in a Barlow Street home percolated through an east Traverse City neighborhood as authorities investigated the scene.

Mike Wolf first noticed a pair of Traverse City Police Department cars parked outside a neighbor’s home when he went to fetch the Sunday paper at about 6:30 a.m.

Hours later, Cymantha Kostecki drove past the scene, complete with police tape, police cars and a mobile Michigan State Police crime scene investigation laboratory. She returned to her nearby home to find a message from her sister detailing a suspected slaying inside the taped-off home, but no news coverage of the incident.

The message left Kostecki with lingering concern about the safety of her neighborhood.

“OK, well, did something happen and someone’s on the run?” she said.

Authorities released details of what they suspect happened Monday morning, about 29 hours after the suspected stabbing that left a man, 56-year-old Daniel Floyd
