Fifteen-Year-Old Charged Over Five Deaths After Stolen Car Hit Tree in Leeds

A 15-year-old was due to appear in a Leeds court today charged with causing the deaths of five young people in a crash over the weekend described by police as “carnage.”

Three children and two young adults were killed when the stolen car they were travelling in crashed into a tree on Stonegate Road, Meanwood on Saturday Nov. 25.

“The teenager, whose identity cannot be released for legal reasons, has been charged with five counts of causing death by dangerous driving in relation to a collision in Stonegate Road, Meanwood, on Saturday,” said a statement from West Yorkshire Police.

Stolen pickup belonged to combat vet

(WOWT) — Car thieves caught on camera have caused a stir on social media and an emotional response from a victim.

A stolen pickup that once belonged to a war veteran was abandoned by three suspects and his widow says the thieves should have known they were stealing memories. Terri Hamelin said, ”There are stickers on it that state combat veteran. It’s like stealing from the deceased, it’s wrong.”

After surviving three tours in Iraq, Patrick Dubas died two years ago in an Omaha car crash and the pickup went to his son. The vet’s widow said, ”He’s refused to take the combat stickers or Iraq stickers off because the memory of his dad.”

Coins stolen from Cambridge business – Quad

An 18-year-old Bettendorf woman appeared in Henry County Circuit Court on Monday on charges of burglary, theft and property damage.

Andrea L. Ketelsen was charged Sept. 14.

Detective Jim Kessinger of the Henry County Sheriff’s Department testified in Monday’s preliminary hearing that the owners of Stinson Insurance Agency contacted the department about 6:30 p.m. Aug. 2 to report someone had broken into their Cambridge storefront through the front window sometime overnight. The business also has coins, and roughly $3,200 worth of coins had been taken.

Det. Kessinger said a crime scene investigator with the state police got a partial footprint. He said the Stinsons asked Ace Coins in Moline to be on the lookout. Ace had someone in and the owner believed she had the Stinsons’ coins, but she left without selling them. The detective said the Ace owner took a photograph of the van the person left in and forwarded the picture

Car stolen from Morrow Fire Department recovered – News

MORROW — A car stolen from the Morrow Fire Department was returned to its owner after Morrow and Clayton County police tracked the car to a Forest Park home and arrested the homeowner.

A firefighter’s car was stolen from the department Thursday night. By Friday afternoon, the Police Department announced it had been recovered.

“We were able to track the car to a location in Forest Park,” the Police Department wrote on its official Facebook page. “We detained and questioned 10 people and obtained search warrants for their DNA.”

Officers with the Clayton County Police Department and Crime Scene Investigation assisted in the effort, according to the Morrow Police Department. Officers also executed a search warrant at the home.

The homeowner was arrested on charges of theft by receiving stolen property and violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act. According to the Clayton County Police Department, suspected methamphetamine was found in the home. A
