Victim’s mother testifies in retrial of man accused of killing Knoxville pregnant woman

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – The state has a big task at hand in the Norman Clark retrial. Prosecutors are trying to convince 12 jurors that Clark is a killer.

They say he’s the only person with a motive to kill Brittany Eldridge: she was having a baby that he didn’t want and it was a threat to his freedom.

On the other hand, the defense is advancing an argument that Eldridge’s death was a burglary gone bad, a narrative that was put to the test in day four of the retrial.

What to expect on Day 3 of the Ray Tensing retrial – WCPO.com

CINCINNATI — At least two prosecution witnesses are expected to testify Monday in the murder retrial of former University of Cincinnati police officer Ray Tensing.

Jurors heard Tensing’s story of the July 19, 2015 fatal shooting of Sam DuBose Friday, the second day of testimony in Tensing’s retrial.

Officer Jimmy Pham, crime scene investigator for Cincinnati Police Department, is expected to take the stand Monday. Pham testified in the last trial; his testimony focused on pictures of Tensing at the hospital along with photos of his uniform. Pham also explained where officials recovered the shell casing and bullet in DuBose’s car.

Woman accused in ex-husband’s slaying still blaming son at retrial

Lanny Horwitz’s designer luggage was packed for a trip with a lady friend and business partner when he stepped into the shower. Then his ex-wife Donna entered the bathroom and fired 10 shots from two guns until Horwitz, 66, was mortally wounded, a prosecutor said Wednesday.

The Sept. 30, 2011 shooting was her way of making a statement, Palm Beach County Assistant State Attorney Aleathea McRoberts told the jury at the start of Donna Horwitz’s retrial: “I’m not taking it anymore because you are Mr. Meanie.”

But attorneys for Horwitz, 70, say it was another occupant in the Jupiter residence that had the true motive and opportunity for the killing — her son Radley.
