Around 8 this morning Flagler County’s 911 dispatch center got a call that a woman at 6 Point Pleasant Drive in Palm Coast had died after reportedly falling either in the shower or while stepping out of the shower. Her husband was at home at the time.

The victim was identified as Faith Cummings, 44, her husband as Michael Cummings, 46.

Sheriff’s Office deputies and paramedics arrived at the scene. The woman was pronounced

CSI Point Park: an inside look at the crime scene lab

Academic Hall classrooms can normally be seen filled with living, breathing humans, but 508 Academic is the opposite.

This classroom is specifically designed for students to study the deceased… or, in this case, dummies.

“This allows anyone who is going into criminal justice, forensic science or law to actually have an idea of what it’s like to step onto a crime scene,” Assistant Professor of forensic science Edward Strimlan said.

The classroom (coined the crime scene lab) is structured to look like a house on the exterior, fully equipped with a window and set of double doors covered with crime tape.

Entering the room, with a partial shingled roof passing overhead, reveals a full classroom to the right surrounded by a red curtain. Hidden behind the curtains are three rooms set-up to mimic different crime scenes for forensic science students:

North Point High School Criminal Justice Students Stand Out at Regional SkillsUSA Competition

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to recognize the Criminal Justice Students at North Point High School for their outstanding efforts during the first stages of the 2017 SkillsUSA competitions, in which they performed well enough to advance to state competitions later this year.  On February 4, sixteen students from North Point competed against students from the Criminal Justice Program in St. Mary’s County at the SkillsUSA Regional Competition. The competition was divided into two categories: Criminal Justice and Crime Scene Investigations.

During the Criminal Justice portion, students were challenged on an individual basis and were scored on how well they handled a traffic stop, a burglary in progress, and a disturbance call.
