CHANNAHON – The woman who was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound Tuesday in a Channahon apartment was an emergency dispatcher with Western Will County Communications Center.

Channahon Deputy Police Chief Adam Bogart confirmed that 23-year-old Samantha Harer worked for WESCOM as a dispatcher.

CHANNAHON — The Will County Major Crimes Task Force was investgating a suspicious death in Channahon on Tuesday, police said.

The Channahon Police Department issued an advisory Tuesday afternoon that officers are conducting an investigation into a death at an apartment in the 25000 block of Bridge Street.

Around 8 this morning Flagler County’s 911 dispatch center got a call that a woman at 6 Point Pleasant Drive in Palm Coast had died after reportedly falling either in the shower or while stepping out of the shower. Her husband was at home at the time.

The victim was identified as Faith Cummings, 44, her husband as Michael Cummings, 46.

Greensboro police investigating shooting at Flowers Bakery Thrift Shop; suspect at large – Winston

GREENSBORO — A man was hospitalized Thursday morning after being shot in his left leg outside Flowers Bakery Thrift Shop. 

Greensboro police spokeswoman Susan Danielsen said the shooting happened at 9:18 a.m. in the parking lot located at 1227 Fourth St. 

Danielsen said police are looking for a man wearing a red shirt and blue jeans who ran from the parking lot.

Danielsen said police took someone into custody but it wasn’t clear how that person is connected to the shooting. 

The victim, whose name has not been released, is in fair condition at an area hospital. Danielsen said the victim was alert and responding appropriately to paramedics. 

The shooting drew a crowd of people who watched officers work. Others were disappointed to learn the store was closed.

“Ugh, I can’t go to the bread store,” one woman muttered out the window as she drove past the crime scene tape.

Cedar Rapids police investigating Dartmouth Street shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) — Cedar Rapids police are looking into a shooting at the Kirkwood Estates mobile home park, which happened around noon, Saturday.

A Cedar Rapids Police crime scene investigations vehicle parked at lot 53 on Dartmouth Street SW.

Officers headed to lot 53 on Dartmouth Street Southwest, finding a person inside with a gunshot wound. Authorities said the victim was taken to a local hospital with “non-life threatening” injuries.

“This is an active, ongoing investigation,” read a news release from Cedar Rapids Police. “The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.”

Around 1:15 p.m., officers headed to 1715 Hollywood Blvd Northeast for a domestic disturbance. There, Cedar Rapids police found a vehicle parked out front they believed could have connections to the shooting, more than an hour earlier.
