Man arrested in Ohio in connection with woman’s murder UPDATE …

The Montrose County Coroner has confirmed the identity of the woman found dead in her home Oct. 27.

Lives Persson, 71, died of non-accidental blunt force trauma to her head.

Her son, Karsten Persson, 37, is in custody in Ohio on a traffic offense there and on a Montrose warrant alleging first-degree murder.

A Montrose man being held in Ohio has been served an arrest warrant alleging first-degree murder in the death last week of his 71-year-old mother.

Karsten Richard Persson, 37, was being held in Henry County, Ohio, on a traffic complaint, according to Montrose Police Cmdr. Gene Lillard.

Lillard declined to specify at this time why Persson is suspected in the death, and did not identify the deceased, whose body was discovered in her Sonoma Court home here on Oct. 27.

Public property records list the home where the body was found as belonging to Livase “Liv” Persson.

Karsten Persson was identified as a person of interest almost immediately and, when located in Ohio, the Montrose Police Department sent a detective there to interview him at the Henry County jail. Persson was served with the warrant at that time, Lillard said.

Man arrested in connection with Parkview Drive homicide

A man was fatally shot on Parkview Drive early this morning, and Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies are questioning a person of interest.

“We are working every lead and attempting to locate the suspect or suspects,” Sheriff Rick Staly said in a news release. “We do not believe there is a threat to anyone else at this time but this is an active investigation. We will update when we have more information.” 

Deputies responded to a 911 call at about 4 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, about a person laying in the driveway of a home in the 100 block of Parkview Drive in Palm Coast.

The victim, whose name has not been released, died after rescuers took him to Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

Deputies do not believe the homicide was random.

Vallonia man arrested after road rage incident

A 52-year-old Jackson County man faces charges of criminal recklessness with a firearm and aggravated battery after an incident of road rage Saturday evening north of Salem, police report.

Robert J. Abner Jr. of Vallonia was booked into the Washington County Jail in Salem after the incident reported, at 8:37 p.m. at Delaney Park and Nicholson Hollow roads, according to a news release from Sgt. Jerry D. Goodin.

That incident left Devin Roll, 24, of Salem with a wound to his left leg, said Goodin, public information officer for the Sellersburg post.

Roll and Abner’s wife, Anita Abner, were both flown by air ambulance to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Goodin said. Before his arrest, Robert Abner
